Agarista populifolia.
Florida Hobblebush (also called doghobble and leucothoe) is a tough, evergreen native shrub with arching branches and glossy, dark green leaves. In early spring, it produces strings of small, white, bell-shaped flowers tucked beneath the foliage, supporting early pollinators. Ideal for woodland edges, slopes, or as a tall foundation plant, it thrives in part shade and tolerates a range of soils — including dry, acidic ones — once established.
